Strategies to Market Your MLM

To build an MLM business effectively, it will take a lot of work.  I do not believe in all the hype of an up-line telling a prospect that all they need to do is sign up and a team will be built for them.  That is absolutely not true.  Yes, in most businesses you will have some parts of a team built for you.  This is called spillover whereby you receive credit for a large number of people recruited into the business by someone else that end up being on your team.  You will see a team start to come together here, but you will not be able to receive those large paychecks proposed to you when you first saw the business.

In order to win in MLM you will need to learn how to effectively market and sell your MLM business.  Most network marketing companies will tell you that you will need to talk to your warm market which consists of your friends and family.  Now, even if you are successful at this, it will only be to a degree and you will still not have a team built in which you may retire.  At this point you are out of people to talk to and your business will not grow.  Your MLM Company will now tell you start prospecting at the mall, coffee shops, grocery store, etc.  Wherever you go start talking to people and hope that they have an interest in what you have to offer.   This is effective, but you end up facing a lot of rejection because a very small percentage of those care about what you will have to say as they have no desire to be a part of an MLM business.  You sought them out, they did not seek you.

Some of the best people to talk to about MLM are other network marketers.  They already understand the business and are open to it since they are already most likely involved in a network marketing company.  The problem here is that they are already involved in another company and are not likely to join you as they are probably struggling as well with their opportunity.

The solution to this is to be able to share with them valuable information that they can use in order to grow their own MLM business.  By being a resource and a leader to them, they will come to respect and value you.  At that point they are more open than ever to joining your MLM business.

You are probably now wondering how to get to know other network marketers, you may not know many others at all.  The solution to this is the internet.  Network marketing people are all over the internet and it is easier now more than ever to reach out to them.  They are out there looking for answers and solutions to their problems.  They want to build their business, but everything their currently being taught is not working.  They want to find you so that they can build their business and be profitable.

There are many effective ways to connect with these people which includes pay-per click advertising on Google in which you can advertise, but only need to pay when someone clicks on your add.  If you’re on a tight budget, some free methods include article marketing & blogging as well as Web 2.0 social network sites such as MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, & LinkedIn which are very popular ways to personally get to know new people.
